Cardiff digging in hard for the final period were to get the
1st goal of the 3rd period and again the confidence grew in the
Eagles outfit.

The game had seen some penalties but the 3rd period was to be all the more
physical with 9 penalties being called as the teams clashed hard for the loose puck.
A really good effort from Cardiff made this a close period and was to remind Bracknell that
they too could play some good hockey and punish us if we did not skate hard.

A close 3rd period ended with a 3 – 2 scoreline to the B52s who finished up with a 17 – 8 result.

Ian (sponge) Shambrook got 2 +1, Andy Downs 1 + 4, Andy Shaw & mark Hopkins both endingwith the 1 goal.
Ade wybrott had 1 assist, whilst Nigel O'Keefe got 1 + 4 and man of the match Dave Welham
got 2 + 2 for his efforts. Carl (gav) Hastings showed his skills with 5 goals and 3 assists and Russ (gasman) Harman
collected 4 + 1 for his nights work.

If we had not turned up with our strongest team this could have been a very close scoreline.
 
So, it was back on the bus and a few more beers as we headed back over the border from Wales to England
