The B52's travelled to Slough on the back of a ten game
losing streak and knowing that the last team they beat was the
Satans way back in November.

In honesty, after two and a half mintues of the game, loss number eleven
looked likely. At 1:49 Christie opened the scoring for the Satans, followed seven
seconds later, straight off the face off by Paner and again 26 seconds later by the same
guy! Christie added a fourth at 12:41, but then began the B52's recovery. A goal by Andy
Downs at 13:40 picked up the Bracknell team and was the followed with goals from Sheppard and
Hopkins before the end of the period, leaving the score at 4-3 and everyone trying to catch their breath!

This the period started more evenly, but both teams were creating chances and goals looked like being
scored at any time, despite the best efforts of both goalies. It took until 28:50 for that next goal, Downs tieing
the game only for Christie to put the Satans back in front a minute and a half later. Then it was the B52's turn to go
on a scoring spree, Downs completed his hat-trick at 30:31 and just 36 seconds later Rob Anderson scored his first
ever B52's goal to give them a 6-5 lead. A minute fifty later Tony Nix made it 7-5 and by this time the Satans goalie was
showing his frustration by talking to anyone within earshot. The Satans pegged it to 7-6 at 36:22, but nine seconds later
Sheppard scored his second of the night, followed by a fourth for Andy Downs 23 seconds after to make 9-6 to the B52's.

After a quick lie down, the frenetic action continued into the third and the Satans fightback started to take shape at 42:49 as
Christie got his fourth of the night. Hopkins restored the three goal cushion a minute later and Sheppard completed his hat-trick at 45:44, to leave the B52's 11-7 up. The Satans hit two quick goals and trailed by two into the last ten minutes and when Paner scored his hat-trick goal at 55:25 a frenetic last five was inevitable. Finally the come back was complete when Martin scored
a long range drive with just 1:41 remaining to tie the game with the B52's a bit guilty of failing to clear the zone as they
tried to hang on. There was still time for Silver to make two point blank pad saves with seconds remaining and
preserve the tie, breaking the B52's long time losing streak.
